Harvard study examines methyl mercury levels in Canadian dam projects, including Site C
Mercury is natural - it's found in air, water, and fish. But like anything, too much mercury can cause major health problems. New research from Harvard University suggests the risks of mercury- methyl mercury, to be exact - are worth taking a closer look at in Canadian dam projects. That includes the Muskrat Falls dam in Labrador, and the Site C dam here in northern B.C. Ryan Calder is the lead author of the study, and he speaks to Robert Doane.
