Northumberland 2014: Stepping out at Cragside

Perched high above a river near Rothbury, in Northumberland, Cragside was one of the first houses in England to be lit entirely by electricity, generated by the rushing waters below. Today, mum and I enjoyed a slightly different, though nonetheless ground breaking challenge: navigating me up numerous steps from the valley floor to the mansion high above.
