'He attacked me with a blowtorch' Singer Jahmene Douglas and his mother Mandy on domestic violence

Mandy had a violent 20 year relationship with her former-partner Eustace Douglas. He repeatedly strangled her, raped her and when she tried to leave him tracked her down. He was eventually jailed in 2002 following a four day attack which involved him knifing, kicking and punching Mandy, before using a blow torch to burn parts of her body. Eustace Douglas was convicted of false imprisonment, grievous bodily harm and rape. He served six years in prison. Mandy's second oldest son is 22 year old Jahmene Douglas. He was forced to watch a lot of the abuse and his father was violent towards him. Ten years after his father was sent to prison - Jahmene Douglas auditioned for the X Factor and last year finished runner-up.
