Colin Berry - Last Radio 2 News bulletin
Some voices leap out the radio. The warm, friendly, voice of Colin Berry did just that as he caressed and polished every word.
Colin was a Caroline broadcaster in the 60s, followed by TV announcing duties and some BBC Medway work. After a spell writing and producing Radio 1 trails, much like Noel Edmonds, he joined Radio 2 which was to become his long term home. He could be heard frequently hosting shows back when programmes had names: Night Ride, The Late Show, The Early Show, and the lovely ‘You & The Night & The Music’.
His voice is also well-known for being the voice of Blighty, reading out the important voting from the UK on the Eurovision Song Contest.
Colin’s voice was often to be heard delivering the Radio Two newcasts; and he hosted his last one on 8th September 2012
