Researching Loneliness and Isolation
Season 1, Episode 104, Dec 17, 02:37 PM
With the holidays around the corner, we’re going to focus today on loneliness. It can take many shapes and forms, but what are the experiences of loneliness and isolation among people with visual impairment?
According to the UK Government, people with a disability or long-term health condition are more likely to experience chronic loneliness than the general population. However, the figures are unclear on how this affects people living with a visual impairment.
Joining us on the Happy Hour to discuss their research into this are Dr Mhairi Thurston and Craig Dunlop from Abertay University.
