For guys, middle-aged hair loss is upsetting, but not something that generally prompts a doctor’s appointment. But that is not the case for women that are suddenly seeing a lot more scalp. While not exactly a medical emergency, it qualifies as an emotional emergency.

This is PART 1 of 2 parts on post-menopause hair loss. This episode covers  hair care strategies, vitamins, and supplements. PART 2 will include pharmaceuticals such as topical minoxidil, oral minoxidil, finasteride, platelet rich plasma injections, estrogen and testosterone therapy.

Part 1:
  • WHY women lose hair mid-life
  • NON-HORMONAL  causes of hair loss
  • What androgenic alopecia looks like
  • Things to AVOID to minimize hair loss
  • WHICH  of the following interventions work
    • Scalp massage
    • Low level laser
    • Hair vitamins
    • Hair supplements such as Nutrafol™
  • What DR. ELLEN GENDLER has to say about vitamins and supplements
