HISTORYically St. Pete with Rui Farias is a weekly conversation where the St. Petersburg Museum of History executive director explores the truths, and myths of the people and events that created the Sunshine City. In this podcast, Rui Farias talks with RSP News Director Nanette Wiser on the history of downtown St. Pete's Coliseum, once known as The Pleasure Palace and home to famous swing and blues bands.

The historic Coliseum was built in 1924 and purchased by the City of St. Petersburg in 1989. It has undergone extensive renovations, and the architecture and ambiance creates a flexible space to host a variety of events, making it one of the Tampa Bay area's most unique multi-use facilities. The Coliseum is located in the local historic district of downtown St. Pete, within walking distance of many downtown restaurants, shops & hotels. It offers over 800 parking spaces within walking distance, pre-approved catering options and in-house beverage service, and a friendly, professional, and experienced staff.  The historic Coliseum is well-equipped to host tradeshows, events, dances, concerts and social gatherings.
