Episode #22: Ciao, Jules

I think you can guess why we named this episode how we did. We kept the Bianchi talk brief, and the reason why, is because I hate being sad. Me and Ryan are passionate fans and aspiring journalists sure, but we also enjoy what we do, and we love having a laugh while talking some Motorsport, and that’s what we’ve done for 22 episodes now. I hope you all can understand that when listening. Cheers!

In the meantime, we probably treated this episode like Justin Gatlin does when he sees a drug testing van. We sped through a heap of topics, so lemme give you a rundown:

NEWS:

– Obviously, the passing of Jules Bianchi
– Haas revealing their interest of Esteban Gutierrez, Jean-Eric Vergne, Nico Hulkenberg and just about anyone who’s currently in F1, while we debate who should get that Ferrari seat between Bottas and Hulkenberg.
– Jenson Button rumoured to be a new BBC Top Gear host, and the original trio heading to Amazon Prime
– Carmen Jorda and Michèle Mouton going to war, and why we actually are taking Carmen Jorda’s side on this. Seriously.

– The Hungarian Grand Prix, Vettel reaching 41 Career Wins first, over Hamilton, Mercedes terrible day at the office, both controversial Daniel Ricciardo incidents, and why we condemned Autosport and Sky Sports’ ratings in protection of Lewis Hamilton. Again.

INDYCAR:

– Derrick Walker resigning as President of Operations
– A review of Milwaukee as Sebastian Bourdais pulled off a stunner, and Paul Tracy complimented his improved oval skills. Am I high?
– A review of Iowa, as Ryan Hunter-Reay remembered he was Ryan Hunter-Reay, as American take their first clean sweep of the podium since the 2006 Indy 500. And we nearly had Ed Carpenter fight Sage Karam. That was fun.
– Article 9.2.8, meaning IndyCar drivers can’t badmouth the series anymore without getting fined. Because that’ll change everything!
