Scottish Vision Strategy Conference 2023 - Dr Mhairi Thurston & Ruth Morrell

Scottish Vision Strategy Conference was organised by leading sight loss charities RNIB Scotland and Sight Scotland and took place in Edinburgh on the 8th of March 2023.
The theme of this year's event was ‘Building the Eyecare Support Pathway in Scotland’ and with over 140 delegates from across health, social care, government, the visual impairment sector, optometry as well as blind and partially sighted people in attendance, the goal was to discuss the main challenges and successes in eye health care across Scotland.
Our Paulina Kuchorew spoke with Dr Mhairi Thurston, Senior Lecturer Counselling at Abertay University and RNIB's Senior Manager Eye Care Support Service, Ruth Morrell, about the importance of supporting emotional wellbeing as part of the eye care support pathway.
