The UN Humanitarian Coordinator is calling for joint action to address the humanitarian crisis in South Sudan, and an immediate end to attacks against civilians and humanitarian workers. Addressing a media briefing on the eve of World Humanitarian Day, Ms. Sara Beysolow Nyanti, underscored the importance of community support and peace in humanitarian response.
South Sudan continues to be the most violent place for aid workers, followed by Afghanistan and Syria.
