IMF team meets government on the country’s economic developments and policies.

A team from the International Monetary Fund is in Juba to hold consultations with the government on the country’s economic developments and policies.  The discussions will last ten-days and are part of the IMF’s annual policy to collect economic and financial information and discuss key reforms with its members Under Article IV (four) of the IMF's Articles of Agreement. 

Economic analyst, Akol Nyok Akol expects that the IMF team will be interested in key reforms undertaken by the transitional government to improve the economy. Akol states that the country has made some progress despite the prevailing challenges.
