Alleged SSPDF soldiers storm Abegi village of Yei County, beating people and looting property

Civilians in Abegi village of Yei County have fled their homes after a group of SSPDF soldiers reportedly stormed their area beating and looting properties on Monday morning 

According to an eyewitness, the incident was triggered by a member of the army who was reported missing after he went to the area to drink alcohol. 

This angered his colleagues who invaded the area and started beating civilians and accusing them of having a hand in the disappearance of their colleague.

The eyewitness says some villagers were also taken away by the soldiers.

Yei County Commissioner Aggrey Cyrus Kanyikwa has confirmed the incident but says an investigation team has been sent to the area to ascertain facts.
