AMONG the headlines for Tuesday, 15 June, 2021, Malaysia’s new COVID-19 cases rose back up past the 5,000 mark today, with 5,419 new infections.
Selangor again logged the most with 1,996, while Kuala Lumpur had 650 new COVID-19 cases.
Meanwhile, Sarawak had the second-highest number of new cases with 718.
This is followed by Negri Sembilan (396), Johor (366), Kedah (252), Kelantan (245), Sabah (230), Melaka (155), Labuan (138) Pulau Pinang (124).
Perak had 68 new infections today, followed by Terengganu (43), Pahang (32), Putrajaya (5), Perlis (1).
Also, Olympics organisers gear up to unveil their latest "playbook" of rules to control COVID-19 infections as Japan's government pondered whether to extend a state of emergency and senior Olympics official John Coates arrived in Tokyo.
