AMONG the headlines for Monday, 14 June, 2021, Malaysia’s new Covid-19 cases have declined below 5,000 for the first time in almost a month, with 4,949 infections logged in the last 24 hours.

Selangor is in the lead with 1,523 new cases, followed by Sarawak (744) and Kuala Lumpur (503).
Johor saw 430 infections, Negeri Sembilan (323), Sabah (273), Penang and Kelantan (214 each), Kedah (199), Perak (136), Melaka (119) and Labuan (113).
Terengganu registered 86 infections, Pahang (61), Putrajaya (10) and Perlis (1).
Malaysia has recorded a cumulative 662,457 cases since the pandemic started.
Also, Group of Seven (G7) leaders call for a timely, transparent, expert-led, and science-based WHO-convened Phase 2 COVID-19 Origins study including, as recommended by the experts' report, in China.
