As a member of Microsoft’s Commercial Software Engineering organization, Mike Downey has helped lead the engineering efforts for most of Microsoft’s partnerships in sports since 2012, including partnerships with NBA, PGA TOUR, NASCAR, NFL, USGA, PGA of America/Ryder Cup, Hendrick Motorsports, and Real Madrid. He has a background in data science and product management with an emphasis on media and entertainment scenarios. Mike is currently the program technical lead for Microsoft’s partnership with the NBA, an effort to create the next generation of “direct-to-consumer” media experiences in sports with a goal of leveraging AI to create a more personalized experience for NBA fans.
