Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs has reported a surge in reports of members of the public being scammed by calls, emails and texts which claim to be from HMRC.
It's important to be on our guard and there is a wide variety of things you can do to protect yourself.
RNIB Connect Radio's Allan Russell spoke to Michael Farragher and Mark Rogerson from RNIB.
They discussed what help RNIB can offer for any tax questions and gave some advice on current scams and what you should do if you are targeted.
