Sorrow

Piece based on Rodin's Head of Sorrow by Richard Watts.
"I thought that it would be interesting to explore the feelings of sorrow during the coronavirus lockdown. The piece is based around the number of deaths that there have been in the UK during this time and how the numbers don't really reflect the human side of the deaths. I have used a number of treated guitar parts and samples of someone reading out the daily death toll."
Part of the Smithsonian Treasures project, a collection of new sound works inspired by items from the Smithsonian Museums’ collections - for more information, see http://www.citiesandmemory.com/smithsonian
