"I captured these sounds at the 73rd anniversary of "W" Hour in the expansive Rynek Glówny in Kraków. Every year throughout Poland on 1 August at 5:00pm, alarm signals and sirens are turned on. Public transport, buses, tramways many cars and pedestrians stop in silence. 'W' Hour was the codename for the date and time that began Operation Tempest in German occupied Warsaw, and hence the Warsaw Uprising. The exact time was 5:00 PM, 1 August 1944."
