"The vibrant city of Warsaw went about its business in the 1930s. The war came, the city was destroyed, and rose again as a modern metropolis. But every 1 August, at 1700 in the afternoon, the old Communist-era loudspeakers crackle to life on the main square, as a reminder that resistance made a huge difference, and citizens must never forget what happened. If the past is forgotten, war can come again in the future, and the modern city will be blown to bits, leaving only faint radio static…" Reimagined by John Tenney.
