The Red Sox added an experienced infield bat, but will it be enough to overcome the possible season-long absence of Dustin Pedroia? The Red Sox offense got back on track last night, putting up 9 runs in the series opening game against the Angels. The key for the Red Sox was the bottom of the order, with both Jackie Bradley Jr and Christian Vazquez hitting home runs. The Sox now turn to Rick Porcello looking for a win in the sandwich game vs LAA. Before the game Wednesday, the Red Sox signed former gold glove & silver slugger second baseman Brandon Phillips. The 36 year old (37 on Thursday) hit .285 last year between Atlanta and LAA. He has yet to play in the majors this year.
