Equal pay for equal work - that's the call from a local youth charity. They want everyone over 18 to be set on the same national minimum wage instead of different amounts depending on your age. This follows the budget announcement for the Chancellor that the minimum wage for over 25 year olds would reach £8.21 in April 2019. Those 18-20 years old, will be set at £6.15, and 21-24 years old, £7.70. Some argue that as the cost of living is the same for a 19 year old as a 25 year old there should not be a disparity in pay.
