New BBC Drama 'Doing Money' highlights the horror of people trafficking here - just what are the PSNI doing to combat the growing problem?
The BBC is reporting that 34 victims of human trafficking have been rescued in Northern Ireland in the first 6 months of this year. That's almost as many as were rescued in the whole of last year. Last night, a hard-hitting BBC drama told the story of one woman who was trafficked to Belfast and forced into sex work. 'Doing Money' was screened on BBC Two last night. It tells the story of Ana, a young Romanian woman kidnapped in London and sold to a gang who force her into sex work in 'pop up' brothels in Belfast. Vinny spoke to Detective Super Richard Campbell.
