Episode 334,   Jun 27, 2018, 05:38 AM

President Salva Kiir and opposition leader Riek Machar are expected to sign a framework agreement today on certain outstanding issues.

The two leaders reached agreements on ‘some points’ during a direct meeting in Khartoum yesterday.

A copy of the framework agreement seen by Radio Miraya speaks of a permanent ceasefire, cantonment of all forces and the deployment of forces by IGAD and the African Union to safeguard the ceasefire – it is however not clear if this is the document that will be signed.

Peter Mayen, leader of the People’s Liberal Party is in Khartoum. He told Miraya Breakfast Show that a ‘break through’ has been reached but could not give details of agreements reached.
