UNICEF: "A shift in mental attitudes needed to protect children from abuse"
A child protection specialist is calling for a shift in mental attitudes to protect children from abuse.
Solla Asea, a specialist with UN Children’s agency – UNICEF, says harmful practices such as child marriage can be eliminated with collective effort and the right approach.
Asea was speaking on the Radio Miraya Breakfast Show in commemoration of the Day of the African Child which falls tomorrow 16th June under the theme – “Leave No Child Behind for Africa’s Development.”
