Parties prepare documents, to reconvene Tuesday
Delegates at the intra-South-South talks in Addis Ababa have prepared two documents detailing agreements made in outstanding issues of governance and transitional security arrangements.
The leadership committee overseeing the talks, presented its report with details of the documents to a plenary session this afternoon, attended by IGAD mediators and international partners.
The reports were prepared by sub-committees on governance and security and spell out agreements to the ‘principle of cantonment’ and a re commitment by the parties to cease hostilities.
Addressing the media shortly after the plenary session in Addis-Ababa, government spokesperson Michael Makuei said the documents are expected to be signed and initialed tomorrow.
