Archbishop's statement on South-South talks
IGAD mediators will today present a compromise paper to parties on areas of contention for their consideration, in the hope of revitalizing the stalled 2015 peace agreement.
IGAD takes over from the Council of Churches which has been facilitating the talks under the intra-South South forum.
Archbishop Justin Badi Arama, Primate in the Episcopal Church of South Sudan led the delegation from the Church Council that facilitated the discussions.
In a closing statement to journalists, Archbishop Arama said the parties have made progress, and have recommitted themselves to ceasing hostilities.
