Parties conclude pre-dialogue workshop on governance and security issues

Key representatives of the parties and stakeholders to the South Sudan peace process on Wednesday concluded a two-day workshop to get more acquainted with governance and security issues – which remain the major sticking points in the main discussions.  

The two-day forum was facilitated by regional bloc IGAD and featured case studies on South Africa, Angola, Mozambique and Burundi,which have gone through security sector and governance reforms. 

Edmund Yakani, Executive Director for the Community Empowerment for Progress Organisation (CEPO) Edmund Yakani says the workshop was a learning point for the parties.
