Countrywide Registration of Medical doctors kicks off in South Sudan
Registration of doctors is underway across the country, as part of a bi-annual exercise to determine numbers and ensure qualified medical personnel are in practice.
The doctors are required to sit medical examinations every May and November to test their qualifications.
The process is overseen by the South Sudan Medical Council in collaboration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons.
Dr. Frederick Khamis, Head of the College of Physicians and Surgeons says the screening process started Monday and is ultimately aimed at ensuring patients get professional care.
