National Dialogue conference to convene in February
The National Dialogue conference is expected to take place between February and March next year. The Coordinator of the National Dialogue Secretariat, Lual Deng says some 1,200 delegates representing communities and interest groups will converge in Juba for the month-long deliberations.
Lual Deng, also Executive Director of the Ebony Centre for Strategic Studies think tank, says teams deployed to conduct grassroots consultations will conclude their work in January, before the meeting is convened to deliberate on the findings from the public consultations.
Speaking on Radio Miraya’s Democracy in Action Program, he said the outcomes of the dialogue will be forwarded to President Salva Kiir for consideration before implementation of the recommendations starts in May.
