Reno Fire Department responded to more than 70 calls for service between 8:00 a.m. and about 4:30pm Thursday , putting it on pace to respond to more than 175 calls for service in a 24 hour period. Reno firefighters have responded to and extinguished three structure fires and numerous vehicle accidents throughout the city of Reno. The first at 1:06 pm on E 10th Street. One resident was treated at the scene for possible smoke inhalation. The second fire was reported at 2:09 p.m. threatening a structure on Stead Boulevard. First arriving units found a charred couch and other debris that had been ignited. The third fire was reported at 3:21 p.m. on Gentry Way. First Arriving units found smoke coming from a bottom floor apartment. Crews entered and found a one room apartment on fire. The single occupant has been displaced from the residence and will receive assistance.
