The House of Representatives unanimously passed Senator Dean Heller’s legislation to approve the VA Choice and Quality Employment Act, which provides funding to sustain the Veterans Choice Program for another six months. The legislation provides $2.1 billion, authorizes 28 major medical facility leases, and strengthens the VA’s ability to recruit, train, and preserve the workforce that provide the care. Heller says as a senior member of the Veterans Committee, guaranteeing Nevada’s veterans have access to the Choice Program for services the VA cannot provide—like chemotherapy or life-saving surgeries – has always been a top priority.
