The Douglas County Sheriff's office and the Nevada Highway Patrol are continuing their search for the driver who is believed to have struck and killed a pedestrian in the area of Fremont Street and Johnson Lane in Minden. Deputies were called to that location at about 5:00 yesterday morning and found a man in the roadway with significant physical injuries. He subsequently died. A preliminary investigation indicates he was hit by a vehicle. Authorities say the man appears to be of Hispanic or Filipino decent, in his late teens or early twenties. He has not yet been identified. Investigators are asking anyone who may witnessed the incident or who may know the identity of the deceased to contact the Douglas County Sheriff's office.
