UNOCHA Director 'shocked' by desperate humanitarian situation in Yei
The humanitarian situation in South Sudan has been described by humanitarian partners as ‘worrying’ with and even grimmer forecast if conflict continues.
Last week a humanitarian team traveled to Yei which is the latest area of major concern, where thousands of people displaced by insecurity are trapped without food, medicines or clean water.
The desperate situation in Yei and other parts of the country prompted a visit by Mr John Ging - the Director of the Operations of the UN Office for the Corodination of Humanitarian Affairs. My colleague David Lukan caught up with Mr Ging to get more details on his visit. He started by asking him for his impresions of the situation in Yei.
