A rural woman empowered is a partner in Development - WFP Gender affairs advisor
[...] " They are the most vulnerable, they are the poorest of the poor, and when they are empowered with better methods of farming, with education, then we see that they become partners in preventing poverty and poor economic challenges," says Lillian Mokgosi, WFP gender advisor in South Susan.
Mokgosi said this as the World marks the International Day of the #RuralWomen in recognition of the role they play in supporting their communities.
She spoke with Miraya Breakfast Show host, Sebit William and begins by explaining the kind of challenges #SouthSudan rural women are grappling with.
