WFP salutes the resilience and determination of Rural Women of South Sudan

International Day of Rural Women is being observed across the world including South Sudan today to laud the role they play in supporting their communities.

The UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon has saluted all the rural women who are the backbone of the rural communities and in many households have the key responsibility for food security, education opportunities and health care for their children.
