‘Brexit means Brexit’ – is it time for Remain campaigners to admit defeat?
Theresa May becomes Prime Minister today. She was on the Remain side in the EU referendum, but she's made clear she's going to abide by the result. 'Brexit means Brexit' is how Theresa May puts it. But not everyone agrees Over 1,000 UK lawyers have signed a letter, stressing that the Referendum result is NOT legally binding. They want the Government to organise an independent investigation into the costs and benefits of EU withdrawal before a final decision. But should politicians even be thinking about blocking the verdict of the people?
