Oak Island - 1 - The Oak Island Treasure Hunt

Oak Island may appear as an insignificant member of the three hundred and sixty small islands in Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia. Looks however, can be deceiving. What Oak Island lacks in size, it more than makes up for with an internationally known mystery and treasure hunt dating back to 1795.

With the recent success of the History Channel's The Curse of Oak Island, the Island is quickly becoming Nova Scotia's most famous export (so long as you're not a hockey fan).

The First in a multi part series, this episode will include an abridged summary of the treasure hunt that has been ongoing since 1795. I will discuss the most prominent treasure hunters, the methods used to coax the treasure out of the island's depths and the various discoveries made along the way that have fueled their relentless search.
