University Lecturers defy Ministerial Order to end strike

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, says it remains“unshaken” by the letter from the Minister of Higher Education directing the vice chancellors of the five public Universities to take administrative disciplinary measures against the striking staff.

Philip Finnish Apollo, the Acting president academic staff association at the University of Juba, said the letter was both harsh and threatening.

"This is completely unacceptable and ill placed, the best thing is to dialogue and find solutions but not to threaten, this is what angered the staff," said Apollo.
