If you've been close to Cannock Chase recently and spotted low flying airplanes...then you may be about to learn the reason why.

It's believed the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty has thousands of years of civilisation buried beneath it's trees, not least replica trenches and battle grounds used to train half a million soldiers during World War 1.

Scientists working for Staffordshire County Council are now using a lazer light system to fly over the forrest to find the historical sites hidden underneath.
