Gerry McGowan from Creggan was just 17 when he signed a professional football contract to play at Leicester City alongside Gary Lineker. He should have had the world at his feet but when Gerry found himself wrongfully arrested for the murder of a soldier, life took a very different turn. He became one of the Derry Four, eventually cleared but still waiting for a key report on the case. I've been speaking to Gerry and Paul O'Connor from the Pat Finucane centre. In this interview Gerry makes allegations against the police at the time, about his arrest and how he was forced to sign a statement. It's been made clear to us that this is about one police officer who is now dead. The defence lawyer referred to in the course of this interview is also dead.
