Strabane and Derry ratepayers facing a 2% increase, do they think they are getting they're monies worth?
Rates. They have certainly got you talking. On Friday, Derry City and Strabane District Council agreed that the rates would go up by 2.15 per cent this year. So what does that mean for your pocket? For the average domestic ratepayer in Derry, it amounts to an extra £15.34 a year, which is about 29 pence per week. It's even more if you're in Strabane: the average ratepayer there will be paying £19.42 per year, which works out at 37pence more per week.
