Shopmobility under threat
Campaigners in Birmingham are trying to save the Shopmobility service which provides disabled people with mobility scooters to get around the the city centre and shopping malls like the Bullring. The service costs £90,000 a year to run but only pulls in about £20k in charges. Now the charity which runs it - the Access Committee for Birmingham - has decided to pull the plug next month...
