Lakes State authorities launch door-to-door search for illegal firearms

Security operatives in Lakes State are carrying out a search operation for illegal weapons.

The door-to-door operation in the state capital Rumbek started on Friday night to address the rising insecurity within the town.

Members of the organized forces have collected at least 120 illegal firearms so far.

The State Minister of local government and law enforcement agency, Samuel Wel Maciek says the operation will also be extended to the counties.
