Magna Carta had Economic Concerns at its Roots

Back in the year 1215, the Magna Carta was signed. The 800-year-old document - Latin for Great Charter - was drawn up between rebellious barons and King John. It meant that for the first time the monarch was placed under the rule of law.

It's credited with paving the way for modern freedoms and human rights around the world. But did you know that it was originally intended to address economic concerns at the time?
