New bishop of Stockport
The Church of England has consecrated its first female bishop -- ending the near 500 year monopoly men have had on its leadership positions. The ordination of the Reverend Libby Lane as Bishop of Stockport came more than 20 years after the first women priests were ordained. In keeping with the bitter internal battle that's been fought over the issue, the service at York Minster was interrupted by a heckler.
