Paying the Poll Tax

The Community Charge, aka the Poll Tax, was, at the risk of understatement, a tad unpopular. I should know, I was one of those administering it. By way of encouraging our somewhat reluctant customers to pay the tax there was a big push on Direct Debit. These radio adverts were produced by APACS - the Association for Payment Clearing Services – for use by local authorities. The voiceover sounds to me like Simon Cadell.
