Turkey's twin challenge: refugees and the Kurdish question

Piece for BBC Radio 4 'Today Programme' and BBC World Service: It’s now a week since Turkey opened its border crossings to Syrian Kurdish refugees fleeing the advance of Islamic State fighters on the city of Kobani – and 140,000 have crossed. The crisis has put Turkey under enormous strain and revived political tensions between Turks and Kurds, with sporadic clashes between the refugees and Turkish police. Our correspondent Mark Lowen reports on the hostility between the two people that has risen to the surface with the refugee influx.
