Watching Le Tour De France in Harrogate

After seeing the Tour De France cyclists off in Leeds, Vance and I headed for Harrogate to meet up with Mark and watch the race as it neared the Stage 1 finishing line. I would never have guessed how close to the cyclists we'd get though. Thanks to some of Mark's friends, who'd been standing by the roadside for hours, we were able to position ourselves on the final hill of the course, just a few hundred meters before the end, and what a brilliant view we had.

This recording is largely of the atmosphere building as the Pelaton approaches and passes, mere seconds before Cavendish crashed.

All in all my day watching the race was great fun. It was wonderful to see Yorkshire in the limelight, and to be part of such an electric atmosphere.
