Round Britain Quiz

It’s far from being a quick fire quiz, more a cryptic crossword of the air. Round Britain Quiz has been running on BBC radio since 1948, born out of the wartimeTransatlantic Quiz and at one time having the companion Round Europe Quiz.

For many years the question masters were Anthony Quinton and Gordon Clough. In this extract from a June 1980 edition you’ll also hear resident London team members Irene Thomas and Professor John B. Mays. The theme is Radioscope by George Delerue.
