Sovereignty movement calls for Australia to be denied UNSC seat
Australia’s First Nations sovereignty movement, Sovereign Union, has called upon the United Nations to deny Australia’s Security Council seat bid. The movement argues Australia is founded upon a colonial state that is in breach of the Human Rights Conventions in its treatment of Indigenous Australians. The Wire community radio spoke to Michael Anderson, Chair of the sovereignty movement about their letter sent to UN ambassadors in New York.
